For some reason, everyone cleared the goods surprisingly fast today. By lunchtime, there wasnt much left already. And after lunch, there wasnt even anything left. Burned some time walking around looking for things to do. Signed out at 3 cos there wasnt anything left to do...

Off day tmr. Gonna think of a way to spend it. Maybe i can watch Naruto. Maybe i can finish up Twilight. Maybe i can go skating.

To kelvin: no, i wont be going out with you unless you can convince me that u can plan something that wont screw up. xD

Zoo was.... interesting? o.0

So i woke up at 6.45 today morning to make it in time for the breakfast with cherng jye, then to the zoo. But apparently, that's way too early since i only took like 15mins to get prepared. So i laid on on my bed for around 15-20 mins before leaving for the coffee shop.. Then blah blah blah until he came and ate and went to meet you ming at the bus stop.

Then blah blah blah again until we met teck li at pasir ris mrt. And lo and behold, he was really wearing jeans. Like, wth? Who wears jean to the zoo? People wear casual, COOLING wear to the zoo. Not jeans. So jokes about his ahem overheating kept us entertained for the better part of the train ride. lol. xD (and as expected, he did start complaining about the heat later in the day. haha)

The majority of the day passed in a blur, perhaps partially due to the fact that i was really, really tired. So I'll just write down those which really stick out in my mind.

Yun Jen joined us later at City Hall, and its off to the zoo we go. Reached there at around 10.30 if my memory serves me right. And unbelievably, there was actually a queue for the tickets. C'mon la, out of all the times i went, this is the only time when i saw a queue for the tickets. xD

The first exhibit was the Treetops Trail. Some people have trouble in differentiating real animals from fakes, and actually thought that the False Gharial (a crocodile-like reptile) we saw there was a fake, cos of the word "false". =.= Like, instead of suggesting that the gharial there is a fake, isn't that really obvious that the "false" is part of the reptiles' name? Lol. We did get a good laugh later on, when we went back to the Treetop Trail for the second time, and those people realised that the gharials were actually alive. Haha

Oh, then there was the otters, which really STINK! Among all of the animals present in the zoo, which includes even the rhinos and elephants, i would have to say that the otter will win the "stinkiest animal" award (that is, if there's one). And i am deadly serious about it when i say that the smell will smack you right in the face. Not only would it smack you right in the face, it would smack you hard and good. It even lingers for a little while after you have walked away from the exhibit. Like, whew, what a pong..

After lunch, we went to the Fragile Forest. Both interesting and "interesting" things happened there.

The interesting bit was the fact that among the five of us there, butterflies find me particularly attractive. They seem to love landing on me a lot, much to the terror of teck li and yun jen, who seem to have a mortal fear of all butterflies big and small (run away as well, jon. xD). Poor you ming couldnt get a single butterfly to land on her hand even after trying so hard. I know that the notice at the entrance says that no contact is to be made with the animals inside, but hey, i cant really help it if they decide to land on me all the time right? Its not as if i asked them to do it, cos they just land on me like that. So its not really my fault, right? xD Haha. And quite the contrary to the popular teck li's belief, butterflies do not, i repeat, DO NOT suck people's blood. =.=

The "interesting" bit, i guess, was when some liquid dripped down on my head. For your info, it wasn't raining at that point of time, albeit the sky being a little cloudy. And with free roaming birds and bats flying all over the place, i cant help but have the suspicion that i have just been the unlucky victim of a bird's/bat's aerial "bomb". The fact that none of the rest have felt anything totally did not help in alleviating my unease.. Oh well, at least now i know how Yanzhi felt when a bird decided to, uh, defaecate itself over his head at the basketball court during assembly 2 years ago. zzz

I guess that the day is pretty much summed up here, save for the less colourful details. Oh, perhaps just one last thing: There is a looong time interval between each bus 22. And in addition, the whole trip takes quite some time to complete. The bus goes from Toa Payoh and winds around the streets to Paya Lebah, then from there to Kaki Bukit, then to Bedok Reservoir, before finally reaching Tampines. With all that time wasted, you are better off taking the mrt..

I have work tmr morning, so i think i'll turn in early. Have a nice night..

I swear that i will not anyhow place unwanted items on the wrong shelves at any supermarket ever again. Its irritating for the shelvers, really.

Just these few days, I've found Yakults at cereal racks, margarine at the biscuit section, a pack of herbs near Milo, and even toothpaste and a can of root beer at the milk shelf.. =.=

Okok, next topic then. Can someone ask me out for tomorrow and Friday? I dun wanna stone at home.. zzz

Kelvin is retarded. He's actually revising the stuff he's learnt even though he has graduated already. Thats just plain retarded. Then again, being retarded sounds exactly like him. -_-

Hmm.. Yet another day at work today. Izzad came along with Yong for his interview. And quoting Kelvin about the difficulty of the test, it was a bit insulting, really. So Yong obviously passed and got hired. Maybe i should congratulate him. Ok, here it goes.

Hmm... First thing that struck me as interesting today was seeing mr vincent lee at the NTUC i am working at. He was wearing NAS shirt some more. You know, the one only teachers have? The one that's white with blue sleeves. For some reason, i nearly fell off the ladder with i saw him (i was restocking the shelves at that time). He didnt see me anyway, so yeah.

I think i am liking work more and more. I mean, ok its slightly tiring at times, but at least it helps me waste my time. Being able to buy anything with my pay is, of course, an added bonus. The only pity is that this job doesnt pay more. Oh well, at least i have a job. You cant really say that it has been easy finding one after the O's. And Yong is joining me at work, so you can say that the companionship kind of makes up for the low pay? lol. xD

Oh, and i've updated my wishlist again. Hahas

Alright, this is gonna be a long post as well. Lets see..
Initially, the plan was to meet up with you ming, ivan and sylvia to go skating at pasir ris park. But as you know, things never go according to plan, and its no surprise that this particular one screwed up. End result: Me and ivan were the only ones left to go skating.

Of course, we went ahead with the skating. And i discovered that Pasir Ris park was really tiny. It only took us just over 40 mins for a round trip, which make it around 20 mins to get from end to end. We weren't even going fast. Compare that to the 1.5hr which me and cherng jye took to get from NSRCC to the Mac at East Coast. Pasir Ris park is simply miniscule.

Okok, went to E!hub after skating. Used up the last 2 of my free bowling games with ivan.. He totally owned in the first game cos he got 3 strikes in a row. Like, wth??!! o.0
I won the second game, but the score was only 101.. For some reason, i seem to get less and less strikes/spares in my recent games. I wonder why..

Went to the arcade after bowling. Got my MIP nEbO Tapz card. Looks quite cool actually. I think it would look even nicer if the prints weren't peeling off due to bad handiwork. Either way, i dun care. The card discounts would work regardless of the condition of the exterior.

Used the "top up $10 and get $10 free" coupon. Ended up with $41.40 in the Tapz card as a result. Highest ever amount I have inside any of my Tapz cards. haha.

First game was some Ghost mansion thingy. Gotta use those wands to wack wack the ghosts on screen. Wack as in literally wack the screen. Quite a workout i would say.. And whoever was the one who said that going to the arcade was bad for health? haha

Then it was Silent Hill. And omgomgomg, we discovered a new cheat/hack/bug. You actually dun need to reload at all. As in, you dun need to point out of the screen and press the trigger once to reload. You can just keep spamming and the thing simply auto reloads. Haha. We had to go all the way to the second boss before we discovered that. lol. Oh, and when you get to the later parts, pink bunnies wielding axes, guns and chainsaws will appear, and you gotta riddle them with bullets before they die. Damn jolly. haha

And today wasnt Ivan's day for any other games. He died while trying to show me some thingy on another shooting game Then he accidentally chose automatic instead of his usual manual on the racing game. Then after he chose manual on the next racing game, the gear wasnt working and he can only go up to 3rd gear out of 4. Then on the next next game, the steering wheel wasnt working and the car would turn of its own accord. And when he finally chose one that worked perfectly, his mum called him halfway through and he probably got too nervous to play properly after that, so he lost anyway. LOL

Final balance on the nEbO MIP Tapz card after 2 hours: $25+ (thats not even half! o.0)

Movies, libraries and fluctuating water pressures

Okok. The day started off with me expecting Yong at my place. However, unfortunately, he was unable to come over 'cos he gotta wait for his brother, who has forgotten to bring his keys, to come home from camp.

Then, i was invited to watch a movie by another bored soul. In the end, City of Ember was the movie we decided to watch and the location was E!hub at 3pm. Watched the show we did, until 4.45pm.

From there, it was a decision to either bowl or go home. But seeing as nobody had bought socks along, the bowling option was quickly eliminated. Not wanting to go home to endure yet another attack by Boredom, we decided to go to White Sands. Following that was a visit to NTUC Fairprice to grab some snacks (in my case, a drink), then its off to the library.

Upon reaching there, I discovered that none of the books I wanted to borrow were there. However, by a stroke of luck, I discovered that a book which i have been eyeing for 5 months was not on loan (like, finally?) at Tampines library. So, after everything was borrowed and settled, we went our separate ways.

After reaching Tampines library, i went straight to HUGO Room for the book. Lo and behold, there was only one copy left (there were 3 copies available when i checked at White Sands). Of couse, i quickly grabbed that copy and started to make my way out. It was only then which i realised that another book which i have been aiming to read, The Sleeping Doll by Jeffery Deaver, was also available. Thus, i grabbed that as well and went to borrow both of them.

Then its balik kampung for me. And i did realise that my house's water pressure have been fluctuating greatly of late. One moment, it could be so low that it couldnt even activate the instant water heater. Then, it could be so great on the next moment that if you are staring at the spray head and wondering why there's so little water coming out, you would most likely be rewarded with a face full of water gushing out at full pressure. Not a nice experience. And when you do experience it, a dozen colourful words would probably be swirling around your mind the moment the water goes into your eyes. I cant say that it hasnt happened to me before.. Perhaps around half a dozen times? Haha. Oh well..
