I really really really hate the A levels.

My A level results will be worth every single minute of my two years spent at JC.

A Life?

Somehow, i feel as if i am losing out on a whole lot of stuff by allowing myself to be  rooted so deeply into the Singaporean Education system. In fact, do students nowadays even have time for themselves anymore? A holiday is meant as a break from studying. Yet, schools bombard their students with so much work that it makes the holiday having nearly no difference as compared to the regular term time.

Imagine, in the future, if adults from different countries got together and talked about their childhood.
The Swiss might say: I spent my holidays skiing on the Alps
The Australian might say: I spent my holiday surfin' at Gold Coast
And guess what the Singaporean might say?
Wa, so good! I mugged at home for my exams during my holidays!

=.=

One day, i'm gonna change this sad case. At least, for my kids.

The three reasons which made me feel like writing this:
1) After talking to Gillian yesterday night, and hearing her talk about her friend in Canada, who currently is enjoying his holidays.
2) After chatting with Teckli, Izzati and Weiting this afternoon about all the fun stuff and rubbish which we came up with in secondary school.
3) After taking a slow stroll home from school, along Sungei Tampines, and realising how beautiful everything is, but not having time to admire it.

Chaos

The equation of Life is complicated.
Throw in a girl factor, and you get one hell of a problem sum.

Mitosis

Promos are bad. But post-promotional exam period is the one that is the most daunting.

Being a bystander of someone in trouble is against my nature.
Help will always be around, but there's not enough of it to go around.
I wish i can split myself up so that i can extend my circle of support.

On a lighter note, i think studying/preparing for bio olympiad sucks too.

Purpose

As i walked past a tentage holding a celebration for Mid-Autumn Festival, felt a slight twinge of regret. By the time i reached the market, i realised that i felt out of place. It was as if i was the only monochromic character in an otherwise colourful world. This sense of desolation made me think: is this the price that sudents have to pay for today's education?

No doubt Singapore has one of the best education systems in the world; Our math textbooks are a third as thick as the American version, but the proficiency of Singaporean students with the sums are way better than their Western counterpart. However, just in case you have not realised, as one carries on to higher education, the amount of free time that one has geometrically decreases (note this in this case, its an infinite series, meaning that yes, you would eventually end up with negative number of free hours) while the workload increases exponentially. As your average JC student, i would say that i am very lucky should i be able get more than 10 hours of free time per week. Academic success, i would say, is highly overrated in this society. Anything short of a diploma and you would be deemed as useless. Period. That is why Singaporean students, or at least those who care about their grades, would spent hour after hour, evening after evening, poring over alphanumerics on white backgrounds.

Perhaps it would be good for a change. Instead of looking for academic achievements, employers should look for personal ones instead. But lo and behold, the increasing specialisation of industries does not allow any one inividual to do that. So i guess the dreams of leading a good life both currently and in the future would not be possible. Well, its not easy to get the best of both worlds, so perhaps i should just stop my ranting now and go finish up with my Integration and Vectors. Yep, i shall now return to my monochromic lifestyle. Anyone else coming?

Edit:
On second thought, maybe that is a bit of colour in my current life, painted in by that someone. Well, hope that the little bit of colour would still be present the next year. 0.o

Technology sucks

Just yesterday, i realised that i had trouble opening my email inbox. Or rather, the system told me that i DO NOT have an inbox although i had the Windows Live account. Quite ironic actually, seeing as i created the email account first, then subsequently, the Live account.

Blame MSN for all you like, but personally, i think MINDEF should accept emails that contains hyphens. Because of MINDEF not accepting emails with hyphens, i have to create a new account which does not have a hyphen. And after i create the account with hyphens and added everyone onto that account, not to mention changing all the contact details on all my other online profiles (blogger, facebook, IVLE, ISIS etc), the system crashed on me and i have to deal with all this crap.

However, you cant say that MSN is completely innocent. It erased my email account, prevented tty from attaching a file to his email thereby making him miss his deadline, and andik cant even open up the inbox because all it shows is a blank page.

In all, technology sucks. And Man made technology. So the bottom line is that we all suck. Have a nice day..

Holidays

So.. term 2 has ended and everyone gets to catch a breather.
But then again, there's the GP exam on the coming monday. And following that are 5 days of extra lectures, so that's a week of the "holidays" gone.

Then, for the last 3 weeks, there are the following things to do.
1) Research for and complete GPP
2) Start on WR
3) Revise for mid-years, or risk getting U for every single subject (yes, those evil lecturers..)
4) Find back my life, or rather, what's left of it.

Yup, and 3 weeks isnt enough to finish doing all of that. So i guess i'll sacrifice my last point.

I have a sad life.

That's life

I don't know why, but i feel kind of pissed at the world in general today. It doesnt feel very nice to get angry over everything little thing, but i cant help it today.

I think its the homework. Seriously. I am not used to crossing deadlines or leaving things undone. But just yesterday, my bio project was handed in late (i cant even blame myself, since it was a technical difficulty which popped out of nowhere, but still, its irritates me to have handed it in late.) Then today, there's this mountainous pile of revision and other homework to be done. And it totally did not help in lifting my mood.

Oh well, tomorrow will be better, right?
