CHEMISTRYYYYYYYYY

Today was great.
We've had this totally awesome chemistry paper. Its dificulty level was just right. Not too easy, so as to let you breeze through it, but yet not so hard such that you spend 4 mins on a single MCQ.

Its perfect. Simply beautiful. Its no easy to get that kind of difficulty, you know. It takes a certain level of skill to set it. And skill is what you need to do it as well. Mr S.M. Park and Mr W.L. Teo probably loved it too..

This is so jolly.

This is just plain good singing..

The air today is the worst i've seen this year. I almost didnt want to breathe when i stepped out of the Study Room just now..

P.S. I think i make a good teacher. Both at studies, and at playing the yo-yo. =D

Human warming

F1 cars are mini volcanoes. I cant find their emission levels anywhere, but by watching the race you can see the amount of heat and vapour given out by the cars is enormous.

So much for being green.

Oh look, deja vu for Massa, lols. At least the fuel pipe didnt get dragged 50 metres this time round. o.0

Photos for some competition.. Some are nice.. Then again, beauty is subjective.

Purpose

As i walked past a tentage holding a celebration for Mid-Autumn Festival, felt a slight twinge of regret. By the time i reached the market, i realised that i felt out of place. It was as if i was the only monochromic character in an otherwise colourful world. This sense of desolation made me think: is this the price that sudents have to pay for today's education?

No doubt Singapore has one of the best education systems in the world; Our math textbooks are a third as thick as the American version, but the proficiency of Singaporean students with the sums are way better than their Western counterpart. However, just in case you have not realised, as one carries on to higher education, the amount of free time that one has geometrically decreases (note this in this case, its an infinite series, meaning that yes, you would eventually end up with negative number of free hours) while the workload increases exponentially. As your average JC student, i would say that i am very lucky should i be able get more than 10 hours of free time per week. Academic success, i would say, is highly overrated in this society. Anything short of a diploma and you would be deemed as useless. Period. That is why Singaporean students, or at least those who care about their grades, would spent hour after hour, evening after evening, poring over alphanumerics on white backgrounds.

Perhaps it would be good for a change. Instead of looking for academic achievements, employers should look for personal ones instead. But lo and behold, the increasing specialisation of industries does not allow any one inividual to do that. So i guess the dreams of leading a good life both currently and in the future would not be possible. Well, its not easy to get the best of both worlds, so perhaps i should just stop my ranting now and go finish up with my Integration and Vectors. Yep, i shall now return to my monochromic lifestyle. Anyone else coming?

---------------------------------------
Edit:
On second thought, maybe that is a bit of colour in my current life, painted in by that someone. Well, hope that the little bit of colour would still be present the next year. 0.o

Question analysis

Not that i am being egoistic or anything, but i actually like it when people approach me in search of answers. Because when they do that, they make me think, sometimes about things which i have not considered before, : Why is it like that?

Thereafter, i would continue seeking the answer, even when the initial questioner has decided to wave the white flag. By the time i find the solution, the thought process would have already allowed me to discover something new, in addition to the answer itself. So it truly is a great experience to be questioned.

So thanks to all the people who have approached me for answers, even if its something which i have thought of before, as it allows me to refresh my memory and fundemental concepts.

And all the best for GP tomorrow. Really hope that i'll be able see everyone again next year. (:

Sleep at home. Please

I absolutely hate people who want to sleep on public transport, but cannot seem to keep their heads to themselves. For goodness's sake,

Teachers' Day 09

Sypnosis of what happened on Teachers' Day:
Went to the library to mug then left to meet 6.7 ppl at 2pm. Arrived at Swensens at 2.10pm and thought that i was late. Ironically, it turned out that everyone else was later, so i was actually the first one there. The rest actually started to stream in at around 2.30, with kenrick being the best, arriving at some time close to 4. Had a Double Berry sundae cos they ran out of Macadamia ice cream for Macadamia Mania and Nutty-something, accompanied by fries. I felt really full, not to mention guilty, after taking in so much sugar and calories. lols
Went to T1 to play Truth Or Dare and Charades on the rooftop. Ended up doing some stupid things. Walked home with yan jun and you ming at around 8.30. Had this dinner consisting of lots of leftover food (i swore to exercise more after that).

In short, it was a great day.
